Florida Markets Highlighted In Co-Star Report (Including Fort Myers & Naples)
In a report made by Co-Star, eight markets in Florida were highlighted as having the most nominal population growth from 2019 to 2020. According to statics based on the 2020 U.S. Census, Lakeland, Fort Myers, Sarasota and Daytona Beach rounded out a Top 10 of strong population growth. Lakeland and Fort Myers were ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.
According to Brian Alford, CoStar’s Director of Market Analytics for North and Central Florida, although many of the Florida cities are known as hot spots for retirement, growth can also be contributed to a big boost in jobs in the medical, retail and industrial sectors. In terms of domestic migration, Florida produced an astounding 11 of the top 20 markets. Sarasota and Fort Myers again were ranked at a close 1stand 3rd, with Naples interestingly enough making the cut for the 20th spot.
As the stats and reports continue to spill in as data is collected, there is no doubt that Florida’s strength in population growth and migration has consistently ranked among the top states and cities in the country. Florida continues to be a big standout and attractive destination for international and domestic migration alike.
