Local CRE News: Negotiations underway for an Indoor Water Park Resort in Collier County
In an exciting reveal, Great Wolf Resorts is in the proposal stages of opening the first Great Wolf Lodge in Florida in Collier County. Located on Collier Boulevard (SR 951) off I-75, near Paradise Sports Complex and The Cove, it would entail more than 500 rooms for families and an indoor water park. Hunden Strategic partners, the firm hired for a market and financial feasibility study , ultimately came to the conclusion the development offered a unique edge to the services it would offer to guests and County incentives the hotel requested were reasonable.
The hotel development is expected to generate more than $5 billion in net new spending, $2.4 billion in net new earnings and more than 1,400 full-time jobs. The Great Wolf Lodge is requesting the county for $15 to $20 million and the overall construction and development costs of the project would most likely be close to $234 million.
Along with the sports complex, the Great Wolf Lodge is an exciting prospect for sports-minded families, both locally and regionally and would generate excitement and add growth to the local economy.
